Go try the turning and gear stock on the current A/B/E class and then go back to the W205 era C class. What I really start to notice is the cost cutting on switches and stalks. Not very interesting about the new W206 after watching the youtube video. The rims on the sedan is so ugly (i hope only because it is the base model, but it showed the 19" one already), the one shown on the wagon looks much nicer, like the current 19" AMG multi spoke style one. They didn't share the stats on the new C300 yet, and they already saying the C43 is going to be 4 cycl also, Not V6 and biturbo. I find the current C300 slow even thought it has 255hp, maybe it feel slow., that's about it. The screen is huge, just like the Tesla, do we really need a 11inch screen when driving? It is just help to distract the driver even more.Īll they do on the new W206 is on the techy side and the lights. I even like the W205 better, they are being very conservative on the new design, although maybe it is a good thing when we look at how "creative" on the new BMW's front grill. There aren't much differences on the front grill than the W205. Mercedes Benz paint and rust corrosion protection remain some of the best in industry but the cost cutting is really showing. Did I read correctly that corporate stores in the GTA are being sold to something or other in China? (memory is fading on me as I age). It really seems like Mercedes has gone down a few notches, both in customer service experience and for vehicles. The Maybach lines of the GLS/S class also do not do any justice to the brands origins. I'm really disappointed at Mercedes Benz. Interiors are MB-Tex (dashboard, doors) with a single stich? They look *really* cheap. Early production (yes, production) vehicles have handle issues, software glitches and the like. The W223 (I was flown to Sindelfingen for pre-production opinions as I used to be a long time Mercedes customer) just looks cheap. Now the screens on the W223 and the W206 and the total lack of any design thought. I started noticing this on the S class, since the W222, no more headlight washers, or reverse camera windshield washer spray. Mercedes Benz's cost cutting is really showing.
